The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” started a new charity project called “Kostroma Unites”

The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” presented the first charity show of the project “Kostroma Unites” called “The Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma”. The performance was given as a part of the programme called “The Nation’s Spirit Health” supported by the Kostroma regional division of “United Russia” party.

Told through the language of dance, the story of the Great country was seen by the educatees of the Romanov Rehabilitation Centre, members of the Public Youth Organization of the Disabled called “White Dolphin” as well as the wards of the fund “Future is Now” and the charity project called “I Want to Be at Home”, the veterans of the war, pensioners, disabled children and children from families in need and families with multiple children.

There was amazing atmosphere of emotional uplift and unity during the show that resulted in large rounds of applause and positive reviews from the audience: “We feel proud for our Great Motherland and are extremely grateful for what you put into the show”.

Nikolai Andreyevich Zhuravlev, a founder of the charity project “I Want to Be at Home” and a member of the Federation Council, expressed his gratitude to Elena and Yury Tsarenko, the managers of the ballet company.

The audience could witness the award ceremony for the participants of another charity project of the programme “Nation’s Spirit Health” called “Back home with Victory!” that took place in spring 2015 in hero cities and was dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Aleksei Alekseyevich Anokhin, the Chairman of Kostroma Region Duma, delivered Letters of Gratitude from the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “For taking active part in organization of heroic and historical tour to hero cities of the Russian Federation dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945 and popularization of the great act of bravery of the Soviet people, courage and heroism of Soviet soldiers during the war” to the following people:

Elena Tsarenko, the President of ANO “The National Ballet “Kostroma”
Yuri Tsarenko, the Artistic director Director of ANO “The National Ballet “Kostroma”
Maria Veshkina, the Vice President ANO “The National Ballet “Kostroma”
Pavel Gerstein, the Art Director and the Chief Conductor of Kostroma Governorate Symphonic
Orchestra
Boris Golodnitsky, the Production Designer of the project
Alexander Zykov, the Backstage manager of ANO “The National Ballet “Kostroma”
Dmitry Komlev, Maxim Kiryanov, Denis Obukhov, Pavel Rubtsov, Ivan Tsarenko and
Aleksei Yakovlev, the artists of the Ballet.

As Elena Tsarenko, the President of the Ballet and the Honorary Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, said: “ The charity performance of the project “Kostroma” Unites” is meant to make what the Ballet does available to all the people of Kostroma and Kostroma Region. We hope that the interest to the projects of the developmental programme “Nation’s Spirit Health” will increase and that the projects will attract the attention of more public organizations which will join the charitable mission of the Russian national Ballet “Kostroma” and the “United Russia” party”.

As a part of the programme “Nation’s Spirit Health” supported by Kostroma Regional Branch of “United Russia” party the Ballet is to give a tour of the towns of Kostroma Region from the 9th until the 13th of December. Residents of Bui, Volgorechensk, Galich, Nerekhta and Sharya will have a chance to see the show. Besides in May 2016 there will be some other charity projects called “From Children to Children” – several performances of the students of the Dance College “The Governorate Ballet School” given in the region to children and their parents - and “The World Called the Art of Dance” – a performance dedicated to the International Children’s Day”. The School will also organize some workshops of folk dance and classic dance for amateur clubs in the Region.
