Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” gave “The Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” in Kostroma.

The show was a part of the large-scale programme called “Nation’s Spirit Health” that represents the artistic, educational and social activities of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” and the Choreographic College “The Governorate Ballet School”.

To begin the event there was a ceremony to award the participants of another project of the programme “Nation’s Spirit Health” called “Back Home with Victory!” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The project was realized in the format of a charity bus tour to nine Russian hero-cities in spring 2015.

The award ceremony was held by Olga Lvovna Yeryomina, Deputy Governor of Kostroma Region.

Honorary certificates of Kostroma Region Administration “For successfully organized charity historical tour in hero cities of Russia called “Back home with Victory!” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945” were given to ballet artists Pavel Rubtsov, Ivan Tsarenko, Denis Obukhov and Dmitry Komlev.

Letters of gratitude of Kostroma Region Administration were given to ballet artists Vladislav Polushkin and Anastasia Barabanova as well as to Guzel Zakirova, Assistant of the President of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”, and Nataliya Seliankina, wardrobe director of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”.

“The Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” being part of the programme “The Nation’s Spirit Health” is meant to evoke the feelings of belonging, patriotism and love for the dearest and nearest. This message is the basis for strengthening the unity and sovereignty of Kostroma region that, in its turn, serve the purposes of economic and political development of the country.

The audience saw a two-hour performance, rich costumes, large-scale decorations and, of course, the complex dancing techniques of the artists. This time the historical and ethnographic canvas in which Kostroma is promoted as a cultural and historical centre of Russia integrated the choreography of the people of Far North (“Legends of the North” turn) and Altai (“Yohor” dance).
