The start of the Anniversary Tour by Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” in Kostroma Region.

The anniversary events to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Ballet started in the small towns of Kostroma Region: Buy, Volgorechensk, Galich, Nerekhta and Sharya. The guest tour takes place as a part of the social project of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” called organized under the auspices of “United Russia” political party.

Twenty-five years ago Ballet “Kostroma” gave its first guest tour in Kostroma Region. Since then, having won the hearts of millions, the Ballet’s art conveyed through new performances and dance turns can still be enjoyed by the people of Kostroma Region. During all those years the artists have performed in forty-seven villages and towns and they have been to several of them more than sixteen times.

This year the audience saw a colourful programme “The Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” that has been on stage in many countries of the world. The show is a historical and ethnographical canvas about the great history of the great country where Kostroma is promoted as a cultural centre of Russia. The performance is accompanied by choreography that represents the culture of the nations of Far North, the Caucuses, Tatarstan and the Urals. There were some premieres of the show such as “Legends of the North”, “the Volga”, “Yohor” (Buryat dance), “Tatar Spring” and “the Rhythms of the Caucuses” as well as much loved turns “Bystrinochka”, “the First Walk” and “Prazdnichnaya”.

People everywhere welcomed the dancers really warmly, many of them came to see the show from neighbouring villages because they thought it to be a significant and memorable event in their lives. People came as whole families bringing along their elderly parents to see the mastership and art of their fellow-country people. In their reviews they wrote: “Thank you! You are the pride of Kostroma land” (Galich), “Thank you for the magical fairy-tale you told. I’d love to dance with you!” (Nerekhta, Dmitry Nikitin), “There is no such dynamics in music to express my admiration” (Nerekhta, O. V. Gorisheva, a music teacher), “Thank you for the opportunity to see with our own eyes such professionalism, thank you for coming to our town. We wish you success, health and family happiness” (Sharya, the Gruzdevs family), “Thank you for the opportunity to feel the beauty! Thank you for the joy your dancing gives! We’re looking forward to seeing you again!” (Sharya, the Losevs family).

The Anniversary Tour of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” in Kostroma Region organized as a part of the programme “Nation’s Spirit Health” is to continue in spring, in April 2016.
