The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” gave the first concert in Kirov.

The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” gave the first concert in Kirov.

The solo concert on Vyatka land was held within the framework of the social project of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” called “The Spiritual Health of the Nation” and continued the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the creative life of the Company.

Several years ago the people of Kirov could see the Ballet during the City Day celebrations.

The social concert of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” is a new branch of the project “Spiritual Health of the Nation” chiefly aimed at making the ballet art affordable for the low-income people. The organizations who declared their wish to participate in the project got free tickets for the show.

Fosterlings of orphan houses, boarding houses, rehabilitation centers, charity funds, art companies and admirers of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” were in the audience on that day.

The first show took place in November 2015 in Kostroma (the project is meant to be held annually in Kostroma). Yaroslavl and Kirov are the two cities that caught up with the idea. “Spiritual Health of the Nation” is a large-scale project that embraces many aspects of the creative, educational and social activities of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” and “The Governorate Ballet School” (dancing college).

This time the Ballet presented the full version of Yuri Tsarenko’s Russian National  Dance Show “Kostroma”. The audience saw a colorful two-hour show, bright costumes, large-scale decorations and the virtuoso technique of the artists, of course. Choreography reflecting the culture of the peoples of Far North and Altai completed the ethnographic canvass about the great history of the great country where Kostroma Oblast is promoted as a cultural and historical center of Russia.

The spectators wrote in the Ballet’s Comments Book:

“The chronicles of our country went in front of our eyes and mesmerized us with the dancing rhythms and bright lavish costumes. We are extremely grateful to the Company for such a present!” (The Mikhailovs family)

“My family – me, my two daughters and my grandson – can say that it was a feast for our hearts and fireworks of emotions. My eight-year-old grandson couldn’t take his eyes off the men dancing, he was extremely excited and tried to copy the moves, forgetting that he was in the audience” (the Dobritsy family)
