The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The gala-concert took place in the Culture and Exhibition Center “Gubernsky”. People of Kostroma and a lot of guests from different regions of the country came to see the show. The Ballet’s friends in art came to congratulate the heroes of the anniversary: Ludmila Chursina, a People’s Artist of the USSR, Vasili Pyanov, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, “Chukotka”, the National Folk Company of Dancing and Singing of the Peoples of the North, and Tevlianaut Militina, its Director, Olga Pshenitsyna, a flamenco dancer, Pavel Gerstein, a conductor, together with the Kostroma Governorate Symphonic Orchestra. There were warm memories, original congratulations and, of course, the premieres in the festive concert.

The audience could see their best loved turns from the Ballet’s main programs staged in 25 years performed by the main artists of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”: they were “The Prayer”, “The Defenders”, “Ozerko-Ozertse”, “Flotskaya Pliasovaya”, “Selo Poteshnoye”, “Hello, the Country of Heroes!”, “The Rhythms of the Caucasus” and “Celebratory”. For the first time in Kostroma the Ballet showed the full version of the Asian-Buddhist fragment of the program “The  Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” - a ritual Buddhist dance “Tsam” and “Yohor”, a Buryat dance. Together with LudmilaChursina, an Honored Artist of the USSR and the leading actress of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army, the Ballet showed the episode “Seeing off to the Front” from a large-scale heroic and historical project «Back Home with Victory!” where the actress performed the role of a mother of a hundred million sons during the tour of hero cities of Russia.

As their artistic presents for “Kostroma” “Chukotka”, the National Folk Company of Dancing and Singing of the Peoples of the North, performed a piece from the “Kostroma” Ballet’s suite called “The Legend of the North” to Olit Tevlianaut’s throat singing; Olga Pshenitsyna and the Kostroma Governorate Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Pavel Gerstein performed “The Ritual Dance of Fire” from “The Magic Love” ballet; Vasili Pyanov, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, and the students of “The Governorate School of Ballet” and “Children’s Dance School” – the future generations of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”– performed a dance called “The Builders”, a Caucasian round dance “Simd” and a men’s Ukrainian dance called “Polzunets”.

The artists and the managers of the State Academic Company “Lezginka” sent their congratulations on the anniversary via a video message.

The climax of the concert was the premier show of the fragment for the international program “World Street” and its turns “Flamenco” and “Gypsies”.

Sergei Sitnikov, the Governor of Kostroma Oblast, Alexei Anohin, the Chairman of Oblast Duma, and Flun Gumerov, a deputy of Kostroma Oblast Duma, congratulated the Ballet during the official part of the gala-nigh.

Yuri Tsarenko, an Honored Worker of Art and the Ballet’s Art Director, was awarded with an order “Labour. Spirit.Honour.” while Larissa Zhuravlyova, an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, received a medal “Labour. Spirit.Honour.” Elena Rubtsova and Pavel Klyuchnikov were awarded with an honorary degree “An Honored Artist of Kostroma Oblast”.

Alexei Anohin, the Chairperson of Kostroma Oblast Duma, awarded Irina Kurzyukova, the Ballet’s accountant, with an Honorary Certificate and gave Letters of Gratitude from the Chairman of Kostroma Oblast Duma to Olga Rudenko, the Ballet’s accountant, Lubava Polyushkina, Olesya Scherbo and Yekaterina Kubanova, Ballet’s artists.

More Letters of Gratitude from the Department of Culture of Kostroma Oblast for the merits in the art of choreography, expertise and for the 25th anniversary were given to Anastasia Savinova, Ilya Gorbachev, Yekaterina Vikulova, Anna Kulikova and Sergei Badanin, the Ballet artists.
