Everyone has a chance to witness the main events of the history of the Russian state. The pictures of the past come alive in the dancing stories about the important epochs, their heroes, long-standing traditions and fairy-tale like sagas.

In 2016 The Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” presents the history of the multinational state in the show about the Great Rus and the life of the people here.

The show extends the time space and horizons thus conveying the unbelievable scale of the great country. The  Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” is like a patchwork blanket made of fragments of different cultures and it allows us to see the smallest details of daily life of the multiethnic peoples of Russia that are not described in textbooks or guidebooks.

Through excellent stage impersonations one can see the coming of Christianity to Rus, the epoch of Tsar and pre-Revolution Russia, the first manned flight to space and famous Russian Ballet. It is like looking out of the window: one sees views from the Caucasus to the Asian steppes, from the Arctic Ocean to the Black Sea and from the beautiful Volga to the powerful Yenisei. One watches people living in different places, their daily life, traditions and religions, of course.

The  Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” tell the audience about the Russian history through her multiethnic nation of people of different confessions, various territories, the creators of civil, urban, country, military and religious cultures. The artists convey the heritage of many generations and the unique spirit of the Russian people with the help of vivid characters of mothers, wives, sons, husbands and warriors.
