“Kostroma” congratulated the people of Tver with the 75th anniversary of freeing Kalinin from German

“Kostroma” congratulated the people of Tver with the 75th anniversary of freeing Kalinin from German

On stage of Tver Academic Theater of Drama the Ballet presented a piece from the heroic and historical show called “Back home with Victory!” and some concert turns that create the image of a united multinational state to celebrate the people of different nationalities who took part in the fighting during the World War II.

The honored members of the audience were the participants of the battles for the city as well as people who worked behind the lines: those who protected the capital of the region and rebuilt the post-war country.

Igor Mikhailovich Rudenya, the Governor of Tver Oblast, opened the ceremony: he congratulated the participants of World War II, the citizens of the city and its guests on such a great occasion. He said: “As for Tver, a city of military glory, this date is the Victory Day… The Great Patriotic War was the climax of Tver’s military history. The city of Kalinin was the first Oblast Center that was freed from the Nazi invaders. When we gather together like this, we communicate, feel the warmth and the power that enabled us to hold on and win. Today we hand out awards for the achievements and services before the whole state and the people. This memory is the spiritual and ethical core that unites the people of our country. I wish everybody joy, well-being to our veterans so that we could see them with their dear and near as often as possible.”

After the ceremony of awarding the veterans with a commemorative token of Tver Oblast Governor “For the heroic service to Tver Oblast” Russian Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” greeted the audience with some pieces from the show “Back Home with Victory!” called “The Dark Night”, “The Artists have come”, “The Battle Near Reichstag” and “Hey, here we are!”. Then some more turns such as “Big Kazak Dance”, “Yohor”, a Buryat dance, “The First Walk”, a Jewish dance, “Tatar Spring”, “The Rhythms of the Caucuses” and the traditional composition “Celebratory”  followed.
