The artists of “Kostroma” held a workshop in Perm State College of Chireography.

The workshop was held within the educational project of «The Governorate Ballet School” Opens Its Doors…” during the guest tour of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” in Perm.

The class was given by the Ballet’s soloists, coaches, the teaches of folk stage dance of «The Governorate Ballet School” – Aleksei and Irina Rubtsov, Yury Tsarenko, the Artistic Director of the College and “Kostroma” Ballet and an Honored Worker of Art of the Russian Federation – and the younger generation of the artists, College graduates of 2016.

Such creative and cultural exchange included not only the students of Perm College of Choreograpy but also its teachers and the administration in person of Ludmila Shevchenko, the Director, and Vladimir Tolstukhin,  the artistic director.

Kostroma teachers and their students held a workshop on folk stage dancing. The program included the barre-work (a part of the final exam of 2016), plié on the main floor in Russian style presented by the female College graduates of 2013, a gipsy sketch, “beats”, “claps”, “polka”, “weaving” and stunts.

After the presentation and the round of applause for the Kostroma artists, the students of Perm College (a world known school of classical choreography) had a chance to study and learn some dance parts from the turns of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” called “Sailors’ Dance” and “Lyrical Spring”.
There were some other planned events and activities within the cultural exchange of folk and classical dance schools on the training bases in Kostroma and Perm. The first one took place on the same day: the students and teachers of Perm College of Dance were invited by the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” to see “The Russian National Dance Show “Kostroma” on stage of Community Center named after Soldatov.
