A traditional New Year meeting with Sergei Sitnikov, the Governor of Kostroma Oblast, took place at the premises of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”.

The meeting was held at the Ballet’s training facilities on the Eve of a great Orthodox holiday of Theophany. The Head of the region was accompanied by Olga Yeryomina, the Deputy of the Governor, Alexander Fisher, the Assistant of the Governor, and Natalia Bursha, the Head of the Department of Culture of Kostroma Oblast.

The Governor personally congratulated the artists with the holiday and thanked for their participation in joint projects with Kostroma Oblast Administration. He noted the artists’ high professionalism and hard work aimed at preserving the folk traditions of Russia and uniting the cultures in the context of modern society.

The participants of the meeting had some tea together, summed up the results of the year and discussed organizational issues for the planned anniversary events of the “Governorate Ballet School” (College) dedicated to its 15th anniversary and further options for joint projects of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” and Kostroma Oblast Administration.

A separate matter for discussion was the realization of the Ballet’s large-scale project called “Dance Overture of the World”. The Administration is going to participate in the project by including the presentation for Kostroma Oblast investment potential in Beijing.

The honored guests could see the premier turn of the international program “The Street of the World” – a choreographic suite called “Flamenco”.
