Tank biathlon took the start with the tune of Kalinka.

After the Ballet’s final turn General S. Shoigu, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, V. Sargesian, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General A. Ravkov, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, and T. Sidney, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Zimbabve, came on stage to greet the guests.

The tank biathlon has been held since 2014 at the war polygon not far from Moscow called “Alabino” in the Park “Patriot”. The idea of the competition belongs to General Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation. The event has the status of state importance and takes the central place in Army Games-2017, that host army people from 20 countries.

The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” was invited to take part in the Opening Ceremony of the 3^rd International Army Games “ArMI-2017” by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In spring, the Ballet had already had the honor to represent the Russian culture in the Opening Ceremony of the International Winter War Games in Sochi also organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Other participants of the event included the State Academic Company of Dance and Song of the Russian Army named after A. V. Alexandrov, “Todes” Ballet, the Company of Song and Dance of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaidzhan, the duo of the Tibet Military District of the People’s Republic of China, the Central Company of the National Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Ballet’s performance during the Opening Ceremony of the Tank Biathlon could be seen broadcast live on the central Russian TV channels MATCH TV and ZVEZDA
