A long-waited for third volume of the textbook called “Grammar of the Russian Dance. Theory and Practice” by Anatoliy Borzov has finally come out.

However, it speaks not only of the methods of performing some elements and combinations but also about an eternal and boisterous spirit of the Russian dance. This book is another reminder for the younger generations, and those who are interested in dance art, that Russian dancing is a unique phenomenon with rich lexis and eventful history. The author means to say that it is important not only to perform accurately but also “with an effort to convey the spiritual world of Russian people”.

According to Anatoliy Borzov, Russian dance is a significant phenomenon in the history of the world choreography so it must take the main place in the process of teaching folk stage dance. It is vital to come back to the original sources filled with natural beauty; rich root culture and amazing creativity of the people who created fantastic samples of Russian art.

Anatoliy Borzov is an old friend and a tutor of the Russian National ballet “Kostroma” and “The Governorate Ballet School”. All the three parts of textbook were published with the financial support of the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” and the International Center of Modern Dance “VORTEX”.
