Guest Tours Always Feel Like Holiday -

After a sequence of jubilee events and to the celebratory fireworks of the 66th anniversary of the Victory in World War II Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” went on tour.

The Ballet company had to fly for six hours and change planes in Amsterdam to finally feel the hot Spanish fiesta.

The first people the dancers saw in Madrid were their own countrymen who came there to take part in the exhibition which was held in the business part of the city and welcomed more than 500 participants from all over Russia. The Ballet was supposed to stay in the hotel in the centre of the city and perform in Feria de Madrid.

The exhibition called “Scientific, technical and innovative achievements of Russia” was held in accordance with the Russian Federation President’s resolution to have “The year of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Spain and the year of the Kingdom of Spain in the Russian Federation” and was one of the most important events of the whole project. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation supported by the Commerce and Industry Chamber of the Russian Federation organized the exhibition. 

Ballet “Kostroma” started the opening ceremony of the innovations fair with “Spanish Dance” and one of the most popular and spectacular turns – choreographic composition “Prazdnichnaya” (The Festive Dance). The Ballet became the only professional company which had the honour to represent the culture of the two countries and the Russian Federation in particular. Aleksander Zhukov, the Deputy of the Russian Federation Government Chairman and Mr Sebastian, the Minister of Industry, Investment and Tourism took part in the official opening ceremony.  

The festive atmosphere from the streets of the Spanish capital filled the pavilions of the Russian exhibition with amazing energy. Ballet “Kostroma” company tried to keep the impressions they got from the old Madrid places of sightseeing which they saw when were not busy with the concerts or rehearsals to take a bit of this hot country in the coolness of the native city wrapped in the aroma of the bird cherry trees in blossom.
