“The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” opened “The Christmas Readings” in the Kremlin Palace

The Moscow Patriarchate and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Department of religious education and catechism and also personally the Chairman of the Department of education and catechism of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Moscow and Novocherkassk – Mercury, invited the ballet “Kostroma” to fulfill such an honorable mission.

“Kostroma” ballet presented the performance about the Great Mysterious Rus created according to the traditional orthodox canons – “The Russian National Dance Show” on the stage of the Kremlin Palace.

In 2008 “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” gave the premiere of this performance on the very same stage with the full house of the 6,000 hall. There were a lot of friends, the admirers of ballet’s work and also the judges of the art of choreography.

At this time the State Kremlin Palace was filled with warmth and kindness of the people dedicated  their lives to the service of God. The Hierarchs of the Russian and other Orthodox Churches, the members of the Government of the Russian Federation, the heads of education authorities and representatives of the educational and scientific communities from the majority of Russia’s regions, the countries of near and far abroad warmly welcomed the performance of the ballet “Kostroma”. The huge concert hall, absorbed by the dark color of the traditional clothes of the guests, created a feeling of comfort and friendliness in one of the biggest and best halls of the world. The kind atmosphere helped the ballet fulfill its responsible mission – to give people love, beauty and joy.

Such famous choreographic compositions as “The Prologue”, “The Prayer”, ”The Defenders”, “The Shade of Sadness”, “The Great Cossack Dance” and “The Holiday Dance” were greeted with special cheers.
