“Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” gave the premiere at home

“Spirit of Russia” opens the inexhaustible potential of the multinational country. For the first time, the ballet “Kostroma” presented the breadth of the Russian land from the Baltic to the Arctic Ocean, The Caucasus Mountains to the Southern Steppes throughout Siberia, the central part of Russia and The Far East through the culture of the great nation that settles the vast area of Russia for thousands of years.

In the first part of the performance, the ballet tried to reveal the culture of the Russian people through its social belonging – the culture of secular, urban, rural and military people. The images of wives, mothers, girls, boys, warriors and defenders of the different estates can be easily seen in them.

In the second part the ballet revealed the culture of the multinational Russia through the individual peculiarities, characters, traditions and values of the different nationalities.

As for the premieres of the performance, there were such complicated choreographic compositions as “The Tatar Spring”, “The Legend of the North”, “The Rhythms of Caucasus”, “The Volga River Dance” – each of them was created with the amazing professional accuracy keeping the faithfulness to the traditions and the national style of the living culture. “Kostroma” ballet dancers mastered from the first hand the thin edges of the executive art with the carriers of the original language of dance. Such personalities as the leading teacher of Kazan choreographic college, the honored art worker of Tatarstan – Vera Zakamskaya, the artists of National Folk Dancing and Singing Ensemble of the people of the North “Chukotka” and the honored artist of Russian Federation – Vagen Nabaldyan. Specially for the performance, hundreds of the unique costumes were created, music was written, fabulous screen set was developed.

The audience was fascinated not only by the dancers’ plastic reincarnations but also by the sounds of the national Jew’s harp, Jarar and throat singing in “The Legend of the North”, resonant plates in “The Tatar Spring”, the accurate rhythm of the drums which was masterly bit by the artists in “The Rhythms of Caucasus”.

The audience greeted with special cheers the brave hussars and the ladies from the boarding-house of the noble maidens, sailors, Cossacks, rural young people, chukchi, koryak people, walruses, seagulls and even the Volga River.

The premiere of “Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” took place! The honored success and a lot of positive comments of the native audience will be the good direction for the upcoming tour in Holland where soon “Spirit of Russia” will be seen in 50 cities.
